  Mrs. Mildred “Maggie” Craft of Attica, age 70, died Monday morning, March 16, in Methodist Hospital at Peoria, Illinois. She was born in Fountain County, January 28, 1911, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Rosa Patterson Shamp. February 22, 1930, she married Jesse Murl Craft, who died June 2, 1973. Mrs. Craft was a member of Attica Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary, American War Mothers, Senior Citizens and Love and Friendship Club. She and her husband formerly operated a taxi service in Attica and she was a retired restaurant operator.

  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rose Easret of Auburndale, Florida, and Mrs. Mary Jo Wright of Attica; two sons, Lawrence E. of Danville, Illinois, and William D. of Attica; five sisters, Mrs. Faye Phillips of Rossville, Illinois, Mrs. Tressie Miles of Mellott, Mrs. Golda Hickman of Frankfort, Mrs. Joene Jeffers of Williamsport and Mrs. Edith Jones of west Point; two brothers, Chester Shamp of Mellott and George Shamp of Williamsport; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. James Boudouris officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
